The project is directed at the improvement of water supply and sanitation services in over 75 villages throughout the districts of Aceh Besar, Aceh Jaya, Nagan Raya, Aceh Barat and Pulo Weh with the approach of demand, gender and poverty sensitive. IHS is responsible to do (a) a feasibility study for each village to clearly show what is socially possible and justifying a selected approach in both technical and financially terms and acceptance by the community; and (b) presenting technical options to the community in each village and ask them to choose.
